Genital Herpes  Transmission & Treatment

Genital herpes is a common condition affecting around 86 million people worldwide. The herpes virus responsible for genital herpes is transmitted through close personal contact. The genital herpes virus, HSV-2 infection,  is more common in women (approximately one out of four women) than in men (almost one out of five). This may be due to male-to-female transmissions being more likely than female-to-male transmission of the genital herpes virus.

Genital herpes is different for each person. The signs and symptoms of the herpes virus may recur for years. The symptoms of genital herpes vary among people.
